Welcome!

I like to welcome you on my blog. This is my first attempt at blogging, so don't hate me if I mess this up :P.

I thought this first post was a great way to get to know one another ;).

So Hello, I'm Loes. I'm from the Netherlands. So if I mess up some sentences I'm sorry, English was not my first language. I love reading that's why I'm starting this blog.

Reading was not always a pleasure for me. When I was little I struggled a lot with reading. When I started to learn reading my teacher noticed that I made some distinctive mistakes. She told my parents that she suspected that I was dyslexic. 2 Years later I finely got tested and it was clear that I was dyslexic.

My parents made me read a lot when I was young. I did't mind it much because I loved story's. The reading was slow but I always liked the adventurers I went on when I opened a book. As long as I didn't need to read it out loud :P. In high school that stopped. I couldn't read fast enough. The books I read where books I had to read for school. Sadly I didn't enjoy them that much. But I never lost my want for story's. I just went on adventurers in a different way. I started watching a lot of movies and series to satisfy that need for story's.

What got me back to reading was college. Because of college I had to travel a lot to a different city and come back home in the weekends. I had a 2 hour travel back home with 2 trains and 2 buses. I was bored a lot during these train rides. So after a while I picked up a book. This book was Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind. It got me hooked and I read the rest of the series. But after that I didn't know what to pick up after. So I made a the smart idea to google "book reviews". I found blogs and booktube. Both gave me a lot of recommendations and more. A community where people are really nice and talk about books. I don't have many friends who read. So it is nice to be able to see and talk to people who have the same interest as me. After that I was reading more than ever.

Thanks for letting me tell you about myself and how I started reading!
How did you start reading? tell me your story.

Love,
Loes
