Polarizing books means books that people either love of hat, with no in between.

I wasn’t able to come up with 5 polarizing books that I loved so I also have a few books that I hatted. Some on both sides of this spectrum.

This list is in no particular order.

1. Defiance by C.J. Redwine
I don’t hear people talk about this book much only when they decide to get rid of it or didn’t like it. But I loved it. In my opinion it’s better than the divergent trilogy, but it is a lot more underrated.

2. Wizard’s First Rule by Terry Goodkind
I hear always mixed things about this series. Don’t get me wrong, not a fan of the overall series, but this first book is good. Yes, it has its problems. Maybe I felt more connected to the characters because I love the TV-series that was released. Even though this series goes downhill, this first book is still the book that got me into reading again. So, it has a special place in my heart.

3. The Martian
Everyone seems to love this book. Within a year this book had already a movie out. And I totally hatted it. I didn’t like the main character, I didn’t think it was funny, it was long and noting except the end interested me. The movie was in my opinion better, the humor was a bit better and the character showed more emotion. Also the movie is over in 2,5 hour the book took me 4 months.

4. Confessions of a Shopaholic
I didn’t like the main character and in a way you’re supposed to hat her a bit. But in the end she is the same stupid girl but she convinced herself that she is changed. I do really like the movie because the girl really changes there. This book was just not for me.

5. Stardust by Neil Gaiman
I’ve seen this movie multiple times so I thought it was time for me to read the book. I knew it was a story that took a while to pick up, and I needed to give this book time to get into it. But It wasn’t at all like the movie . But this book was sometimes to strange to me. Some parts were so slow and others jump over nice parts with hardly mentioning it. I hear a lot of great things about Neil Gaimans writing but I think it it’s just not for me.
