Top 5 Wednesday: Books You will Never Read

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme created by Lainey @ GingerReadsLainey on YouTube and hosted by Sam @ ThoughtsOnTomes. Every Wednesday there is a new topic, and you list your top 5 related to the particular topic. This week topic is books you will never read. For more information on top 5 Wednesday and the Goodreads group click HERE.

I’m a person who says: “never say never because you don’t know what the future may bring.”
So there is a chance that I pick some of these up if someone convinces me or if I change my mind about these books.

This list is in no particular order.

1. The Selection Series
This book doesn’t sound like something that I would enjoy. I hate the bachelor, and I don’t particularly like love triangles (especially if it is badly done, which is in most cases).  Also, there are so many more books that sound more interesting to me. So many books so little time.

2. The Mortal instruments series
I know I will get hate for this but I don’t want to read these books. I read the first book and didn’t really like it. A friend of mine is a big fan of this series so I thought I could give it a try. She told me that the series get better but I don’t care anymore. I don’t want to go through 3 books to get to a better point. There are so many other books I would like to read more.  So I won’t be finishing this series. Sorry if you were a big fan. I just wasn’t for me. Lucky everyone has a right to their own opinion. If everyone liked the same books what would there be to discuss, why would we even write blogs. The different opinions make the book blog community an interesting plays to be a part of.

3. The Half Wild Trilogy
I didn’t like the first book that much so I think I will skip this series. I heard a lot of mixed things about this series, so at the moment I’m not planning to read the last 2 books in this trilogy.

4. Hidden Sea Tales trilogy
I was mostly confused while reading the first books Child of Hidden Sea, and the moments that weren’t confusing were kind of boring. This book was not something for me. So the second and third book I will skip.

5. The Sword of Truth series (Richard and Kahlan series)
I have loved the Sword of Truth series because this series got me into reading. I loved these characters so much. I have laughed with them, cried with them and I was scared for them, but now the series is not the same anymore. After the 6th book things were dragged out. There we multiple chapters were they would be discussing things that they could do. I like a more action pact story. I felt like the writer thought this story sells so let’s try to get as many books out of it. After 10 books I just wanted a satisfying ending and I didn’t get it. And the series kept going and going. Now I am done with this series. But I still love the first 6 books in this series, after that I just advise you to stop because it goes downhill after that.

  1. Oh My Goodness, THANK YOU! I tend to feel like the only one who doesn't like love triangles, no lie, it's the main reason I couldn't get past book two in the selection series. Well that, and the fact that America got on my nerves so fast.

    1. I haven't ever seen a love triangle done well. But I still hope to find one, one day. I really liked your list as well.
