Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

My thoughts

What makes this book so good? I mean, a retelling of Cinderella has been done so many times that it gets old. What makes this book different? Yes it is a bit predictable because it follows the storyline of Cinderella. Yes I saw that plot twist at the end coming from a mile away. But it’s the story of Cinderella like you’ve never heard it before.

The word is well developed. I absolutely love the characters. The writhing is nice, and I am a sucker for fairy tale retellings. Sci-fi isn’t my thing, but I am trying to get into Sci-fi more. This would be a great start for people who aren’t a fan of Sci-fi, because the fairy tale part makes it easy to get into it.

I love Cinder she is amazing. She was a strong young woman who isn’t searching for love. She is just trying to get away from her evil stepmother. I liked the bond she had with one of her stepsisters.  They were close, and that was nice to see (nice twist to the original story). I also love the bond she had with Iko the little android that helped her with her work. She was sassy and that got Cinder irritated or embarrassed sometimes. This made them argue, but they love each other nonetheless. Prince Kai is also a great character. He has a lot to deal with. He is next in line to the throne, while his father is already sick with the plague that is sweeping through this futuristic world.

Everyone recommends this series. Now I know why.

Meyer has done a great job in staying true to the original while still making it her own story. Amazing! I really need to read scarlet now! I want to know what happens next!
